At Jazz Vermont, Band Camp for Grownups, you will be joining one of our 8 bands. If you join one of our 3 big bands, you will be playing in a section with other players, playing the music of Basie, Ellington, Kenton, Marsalis, Gillespie, McConnell and more. If you join one of our smaller bands, the octet, or nonet, you will be playing great charts by the masters. The Bands Rehearse every day in the morning and the evening each for 2 1/2 hours. You will also be participating in section rehersals every afternoon for about an hour.

Our drumset (drumkit) guest artist is Bill Reynolds, a long time jazz drummer on the Boston scene as well as a faculty member in the jazz program at the University of Connecticut. Of particular note, Bill Reynolds played in the band that appeared in the movie "Eight Men Out" Jazz Vermont has its own Hollywood star!

As a drummer at JV you can also attend our jazz improv workshops taught by Jerry Bergonzi, tenor sax great, New England Conservatory professor and Brubeck alumnus. He teaches a special lecture on Jazz Rhythms from his book of the same name. Bill Reynodls will be coaching you individually druing rehearsals, working with you during rhythm section rehearsals, teaching a drumset (drumkit) workshop and offering private lessons.
